Upgrade Lava Iris 405 to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Upgrade Lava Iris 405 to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Hey guys, I am going to give a Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade of Lava Iris 405. Wait, that's not official. That is ported by my friend/developer Vipul Verma. He ported Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Custom ROM for Lava Iris 405. The work done by him is pretty cool and I didn't expected update for this device. I thought the device would have a dark future in development but when my buddy (Vipul) told me about the update, I was shocked. He also ported many good Custom ROMs for Lava Iris 405 and he deserve thanks. Now let's concentrate on the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Custom ROM for Iris 405. He ported this ROM from the clone of this device, Amoi N821. The device has almost same specifications as of Iris 405 but it was running on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 so Varun thought of porting it from that device because it was easy for him to fix the bugs as it was a clone of his own device!
The features of this ROM is almost same of Jelly Bean 4.1.1 but there are minor bug fixes like more free RAM, faster, more multitasking etc. There are some ROMs based on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 for Iris 405 but I thought of giving the AOSP ROM to you first, I will post some more ROMs if I found them interesting.
The UI is not changed too much so don't expect that you will get a whole new revamped UI. As I said, just some minor bug fixes, nothing else.

Let's move to the features of this ROM

Features of 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM for Lava Iris 405:

  • 4.2.2 Jelly Bean based ROM
  • Rooted ROM
  • Busy Box added
  • More free RAM
  • Much more inside

Requirements to install Jelly Bean 4.2.2 in Lava Iris 405:

How To Install 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in Lava Iris 405:

  • Transfer the downloaded file: Lava Iris 405 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM.zip to the root of your SD card.
  • Shut down the device and remove the battery.
  • After approximately 10 seconds, add it back so that it doesn't boot.
  • Press and hold Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously for a while until ClockWorkMod/Team Win Recovery Project Recovery appears.
  • Go to Backup and restore option and select Backup to backup your current ROM. [Important step, not to be neglected].
  • Go to the main menu and select Wipe data/factory reset and press Yes
  • Go to Mounts and Partitions and click on format /system.
  • Go to Advance from the main menu and there click on Wipe Dalvik cache.
